Introduction
Are you a history buff looking for an immersive gaming experience? Look no further than War of Rights, a game available on Steam that will transport you back to the American Civil War in 1862. In this blog post, we will explore what War of Rights is all about and why it is an excellent choice for history enthusiasts.

What is War of Rights?
War of Rights is a first-person shooter game developed by Campfire Games. Set during the American Civil War, the game offers players the opportunity to experience historical battles and events in a highly realistic and authentic manner.
Unlike other war games, War of Rights focuses on historical accuracy and attention to detail. The developers have gone to great lengths to recreate the battlefields, uniforms, weapons, and tactics of the time period, providing players with an unparalleled immersion into the Civil War era.

Why is War of Rights Perfect for History Buffs?
Historical Accuracy:
Look, yes I understand it is just a game, however, if you are a history buff, you will appreciate the level of historical accuracy in War of Rights. From the uniforms and weapons to the terrain, flags and battle formations, every aspect of the game is meticulously researched and recreated.
Realistic Gameplay:
War of Rights offers a realistic and challenging gameplay experience. Players must strategise, communicate with their team, and make tactical decisions to succeed on the battlefield. The game's attention to detail and immersive atmosphere make it a truly unique experience for history enthusiasts. The game has been designed to encourage team work, a good leader wins the day.
Educational Value:
As an Aussie, since playing war of rights, I have learnt so much about the American Civil War. Playing this game has peaked my interest in thie history of the battles I just took part in. A good source of information is the American Battlefield Trust Youtube . So, it's fair to say that playing War of Rights is not only entertaining but also educational. You cannot say that about all games.
The game provides players with a deeper understanding of the Battle of Antietam (1862), its key battlefields, and how it might have felt for the soldiers who fought in them. It allows players to step into the shoes of people who actually fought (and died) and experience the challenges they faced. Again, you cannot say that about all games.
If what I have said resonates with you, the following video by the American Battlefield Trust is a good place to start to enrich your ingame experience.
Regiments and organised events
There are basically two ways to play War of Rights (and both are fun). These are public matches 'pubs' and organised closed events thought regiments.
Public Games
There are public servers where most people start and play. Basically anything goes and these games can get a little chaotic to say the least (400 player servers). Quite often, though, when strong and experienced leaders take the commander positions, and equally experienced players support in the NCO roles, the game play in public matches is a lot of fun.
Organised events and regiments
The other format, and possibly the games strength, is the regimental system and organised closed events. Once you join a regiment (such as the 10thSC) you can take part in organsied events which, depending on the agreed rules, usually have more 'reenactment' style game play. Players all agree to stay in formatation or skirmish and follow commanders who lead them into glourious battle. These games can be epict regardless of a win or a loss (winning is always better LOL).

When you are part of a regiments like the 10thSC, you have the opportunity to participate in regular training on drill camp servers. Here you learn and train to play as a cohesive team in the chaos of battle. You will drill and learn tactics, target practice, artillery practice, strategy and so much more.
Conclusion
Join the union in a mad charge over Burnside bridge, defend Harpers Ferry from Stonewall Jackson's hordes, die (multiple times) in Millers Cornfield, get slaughtered by artillery on Hagerstown Turnpike. Or, as the CSA, fend off the Union in Bloodly lane, or stand and fight around the historic Dunker church.

For history buffs looking for an exceptional gaming experience, War of Rights is the perfect choice. With its historical accuracy, realistic gameplay, and educational value, the game offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the American Civil War. So, grab your musket and join the ranks of soldiers as you relive the epic battles of the past.
